UHMW
Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene exhibits the properties of excellent impact strength, abrasion resistance, low coefficient of friction, as well as very good chemical resistance. This industrial grade material is also moisture, stain and odor resistant, and is FDA approved to be used in the food processing industry. The material is ideally suited for wear applications especially in contact with metals. UHMW is widely used in industrial applications such as chute linings, dock bumpers, paper machine parts, and conveyor wear strips and can easily be machined with ordinary wood working tools.

ACETAL
Acetal (polyoxy-methylene) offers design engineers a superior blend of strength, stiffness, lubricity, and dimensional stability. These properties, along with inherent machining ease, have made Acetal one of the most widely used engineering grade thermoplastics. To meet specific application configurations and to maximize production efficiency, Polymer Industries offers a broad array of Acetal stock shapes. These materials include both copolymer unfilled grades as well as an electrically conductive grade of Acetal that is used in the micro-electronics industry to dissipate static electric charges.

DELRIN
Delrin® (polyoxy-methylene) offers design engineers a superior blend of strength, stiffness, lubricity, and dimensional stability. These properties, along with inherent machining ease, have made Delrin® one of the most widely used engineering grade thermoplastics. To meet specific application configurations and to maximize production efficiencies, Polymer Industries offers a broad array of Delrin® stock shapes. These materials include both homopolymer unfilled grades as well as PTFE-filled grades for enhanced wear resistance and DE-588 options for military applications.

HDPE
High Density Polyethelyne sheet exhibits the properties of high impact strength, abrasion resistance, and low coefficient of friction. The material is also moisture, stain and odor resistant, and is FDA approved to be used in the food processing industry. The material's durability makes it ideally suited for a variety of applications such as water tanks, chute linings and numerous industrial uses.

HMW
HMW is the extruded material needed when HDPE is not enough and UHMW is not necessary. HMW has higher impact strength than HDPE and is more abrasion resistant. The fact that HMW is more wear resistant than standard HDPE, and is more economical than standard UHMW makes it the ideal material for wear applications and machined parts. It may also be used in applications such as snowplow linings and fertilizer spreaders.

LDPE
LDPE Sheet is a material that's soft, flexible, and tough, even at low temperatures. Because of the fact that LDPE has very good formability traits and is very pliable, it is an ideal material for the orthotics and prosthetics industry. LDPE has very good chemical resistance and low moisture absorption which makes it ideal for the chemical industry. LDPE also has exceptional environmental stress crack resistance properties.

NYLON
Since its introduction in 1938, Nylon has become one of the world’s most widely recognized and utilized engineering grade thermoplastics. Nylon’s unique combination of high strength, good toughness, outstanding chemical resistance, and excellent wear and abrasion resistance have made it the material of choice for product designs in a multitude of industries. When used to replace wear grade metals like brass and bronze, no other material provides the combination of extended wear life, light weight, and low fabricated part cost of Nylon.

PEEK
Polyetheretherketone is a semi-crystalline high temperature thermoplastic that offers design engineers a truly unique combination of exceptional performance characteristics. When compared with other engineering polymers, this material ranks as the best or nearly the best in every performance category. PEEK has a relative thermal index of 480°F and has a UL 94 flammability rating of V-0, with very low levels of smoke generation and toxic gas emission. Additionally, this material exhibits excellent electrical properties, which remain stable over a wide range of both temperatures and frequencies. PEEK is chemically resistant to a wide range of organic and inorganic liquids and is insoluble in all common solvents. In addition, it is unaffected by steam and hot water and has a very low moisture absorption rate. This material offers superior dimensional stability and machines easily. While unfilled PEEK offers good wear resistance, Polymer Industries also offers PEEK with glass fiber filled options as well as Carbon and Teflon filled options.

PEI
Polyetherimide is an amorphous thermoplastic that is manufactured from SABIC Innovative Plastics’ ULTEM resin. PEI is extremely rigid, dimensionally stable, and able to withstand continuous operating temperatures of 340˚F. Because it offers superior resistance to autoclave sanitizing and is FDA/USDA compliant, PEI is routinely specified for reusable machined components used in the medical and pharmaceutical industries. This material also offers electronic and semiconductor designers unmatched dielectric properties that are maintained over a wide frequency range. Unfilled PEI is dark amber in color and semi-transparent. For applications that require improved stiffness, glass fiber filled grades are available.

PET
Semi-crystalline polyester terephthalate (PET) polymer that exhibits excellent strength, rigidity, and is easily machined. Additionally, this material offers dimensional stability and wear resistance that meets or exceeds that of nylon or acetal. Due to its superior chemical resistance and food contact approvals, PET stock shapes are the preferred material for components in food processing applications such as pistons, valves, feed screws, and food product forming and extrusion dies.  Additionally, the low moisture absorption and low rate of thermal expansion offered by PET makes it ideal for demanding applications that require close tolerance, precisely machined component parts.

POLYPROPYLENE
Polypropylene exhibits the properties of high corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and great tensile strength. It maintains its stiffness at elevated temperatures and displays incredible resistance to organic solvents, degreasing agents, and electrolytic attack. In addition, the material is lightweight, and stain and moisture resistant. Due to its chemical resistance, Polypropylene is ideally suited to be used with a wide range of chemicals. Its resistance to aggressive media permits it to be used in laboratories and a large variety of industrial applications. The material resists most strong acids and bases even at relatively high temperatures and concentrations.

PPO
Blend of polyphenylene oxide and styrene) is an amorphous thermoplastic that offers a superior blend of physical strength, flame resistance, and outstanding electrical properties. Unlike many amorphous materials that tend to steadily lose strength as temperatures increase, PPO maintains its high stiffness to temperatures in excess of 200°F. In addition, it’s low moisture absorption and low coefficient of thermal expansion contribute to it being one of the most dimensionally stable materials available. PPO has an excellent V-0 UL-94 flame rating at thicknesses of 0.24" and over. For applications that require improved strength and stiffness, 30% glass fiber filled is available.

PSU
Polysulfone is an amorphous high performance thermoplastic material that has proven performance at elevated temperatures. Good mechanical properties along with thermal stability allow for its use in load bearing applications over broad temperature ranges. Other notable attributes include flame retardant, excellent radiation resistance, and good chemical resistance. The ability of PSU to withstand common sterilization techniques supports its use in numerous sanitary applications such as medical instruments and food processing machinery. PSU  stock shapes are amber in color and semi-transparent. They machine easily and are available in a full range of heavy gauge rod and plate sizes.

PVDF
PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) is a non-reinforced highly crystalline fluoropolymer that combines exceptional chemical resistance with superior strength and stability. When compared with traditional fluoropolymers like PTFE, PVDF offers up to three times the typical strength and stiffness while maintaining unparalleled resistance to even the harshest chemicals—even at temperatures up to 300°F. These properties, along with its natural flame retardancy (UL94, V-0) and ultrahigh purity have made it the material of choice for processing equipment components used in semiconductor manufacturing clean room environments. Because it also offers excellent toughness and electrical properties that remain stable over a wide range of both frequencies and temperatures, PVDF is also often used in components used for power transmission. PVDF is offered in two grades; PVDF 740 (beige) and PVDF 1010 (white). Both grades machine easily and are available in a full range of heavy gauge rod and plate sizes.
