NON METALLIC GASKETSGasket Material

Non metallic gaskets usually consist of composite sheet materials for low-pressure applications. Suitable for a wide range of general and corrosive chemical services. Some types are: Elastomers, Non-asbestos sheeting and graphite sheet products. We also stock PTFE envelope gaskets that offer a cost effective solution for sealing relatively low temperature and pressure applications containing corrosive fluids. PTFE envelope gaskets consist of a sheet/composite insert encapsulated in the bore by a thin PTFE sheath. Wilmington Rubber and Gasket has the capability to cut gaskets to fit standard flanges, any shape that can be formed with a die, or hand cut to suit your needs.

SEMI-METALLIC GASKETS

A composite gasket consists of both non-metallic and metallic materials. The metal generally provides the strength swg.gif and resilience of the gasket. These gaskets are suitable for both low and high temperature/ pressure applications.

A requirement of any gasket is the ability to recover under variable loads. That’s why Wilmington Rubber and Gasket stocks various types of spiral wound gaskets. The effects of pressure and temperature fluctuations, the temperature difference across the flange face, together with flange rotation, bolt stress relaxation and creep, demand a gasket with adequate flexibility and recovery to maintain a seal under variable and uneven loading. Our spiral wound gaskets meet these requirements. They may include a centering ring, an inner ring or both. Filler and wire can be changed to accommodate different chemical compatibility requirements.

METALLIC GASKETS

Can be fabricated from one metal or a combination of metallic materials, in a variety of shapes and sizes. Suitable for high temperature/pressure applications. High loads are required to seat metallic gaskets, relying on the deformation of the material into the flange imperfections.
